#28 A lesson from Joe Opatowski's life and death
I think it is great to see someone’s life be changed by the Me to We philosophy. A lesson that I have learned from Joe’s life and death is how to find happiness without looking at what we want to achieve within ourselves. Without goals your life will be more stressful and not organized because when you have goals it allows you to have direction and options. Before setting goals you have to believe in yourself and who you want to be as a person. Take chances and have fun with the choices you make. No matter what happens in life if it’s boring or fun, happy or sad don’t take any of it for granted. Live life to the fullest and when you do something amazing like help others enjoy it and in braise that happiness you feel inside. Capture the moment!
#27 Oprah's Story
I don't really watch Oprah so I guess I'm her biggest fan but I do know that she does a lot of good in the world and has made many peoples lives much better. She has definitely gained my respect from this. She is not one of those celebrities that wants the fame for themselves and doesn't plan to do any good with it. I do think that her big heart has helped her success rate. People look up to her as a role model and rightfully so. She has done a lot of good with her life and gained a lot of positive attention. This shows that her philosophy is right. You get back in life what you give out. She has made peoples live much better and helped them become more successful in different ways and in return she has become richer than I ever want to be. She is one celebrity that I think deserves the success she has received. This is because she cares about everyone and gives to so many causes and makes people aware of all of them too. Her show is one of the better talk shows I would say from the few episodes I’ve watched.
#26 The Car Experiment
The car experiment showed the difference between a united community and a disoriented community. You can compare it to thamesford and London. If something like this happened in Thamesford, somebody would be more likely to care about the car but in London city life, nobody has time to care about an abandoned car. They have their own lives to worry about. At IDCI, I think if we all shared a common sense of pride for our school it would be a much nicer place to be at. Our school isn't horrible compared to some schools but lets face it, in our school most people don't give a crap about what goes on and they just want to get out of here. If we all found a common good thing about our school, we would be able to care about it more and help out. People in the school would be treated better but also physically the school wouldn't get as beat up as it does.
#25 what can IDCI learn from Monarch Park Collegiate?
It is great to see how a school who has so much diversity can come together when other countries are in need and fund 32 000 dollar to help out other countries. I think we can learn from this school that not to look at just how you can help yourself but how you can help others to make their life better. It also shows us that if a school that has so many differences and don’t normally come together as one can pull this off a school like ours who do so much together should be able to do what they did no problem. These students are inspirational especially the grade nine who brought it altogether. Everyone can make a difference if they want to!
#24 Safe Schools
I was on the trip. However even though I didn’t get to watch the play live because I was on a field trip I still watched it in class and think it was pretty good. Although it wasn’t as good as it probably would have been live because we couldn’t really hear it, it had a lot going on that was confusing. They should bullying, abusive relationship, and sexuality towards different genders it was a lot to grasp in that amount of time. It was hard to follow who was who and what was going on because they just moved chairs and didn’t really have a set. However it still probably got some peoples attention and did tell you what was right from wrong it just wasn’t their best play on bullying.
# 23 Think pink
I think that think pink day was a great success! Lot of people wore pink to stand up to anti-bullying. The t-shirt sales went really well they ran out, or else more of them would have been sold. I think that this day is a great way to stand up to this cause. Its crazy how just two high school boys started it and I hope it continues for a long time. This day is just one of the many ways of how we stop bullying and the little things we do are the building blocks to no bullying at all. Days like this make our school a better place and make us aware of the problems that go on around us!
